Steering wheel bearing

I have a 95 XL series truck with no cruise control but it does have an airbag in it...... anyway my steering wheel bearing is shot you can shake it up and down just like a shot wheel bearing now i was told i have to change out the whole steering column but in the LMC book it shows replacement bearings ... anyone ever have to change them before and do i really have to change out the whole column?

Thanks

Haha, they're bad because using the steering column to get in kills em in short time...ask my friend. Ya they are horrible to change if u dont know what ur doing. We tried it on my friends truck and it lasted maybe 3 months. A reman steering column was like $250 locally, or a junkyard column is another option.
