J-B Weld Saves the Day... Dash Bezel Repair
J-B Weld Saves the Day... Dash Bezel Repair
So I thought I would share these pictures... maybe it would help/inspire/prove that you can do something that may seem stupid to do and save yourself some cash at the same time... OR... it may give you a good laugh... either way I've gotten too much help from the site to not try to so something I've actually done.

Yep busted up good..radio side...but just J-B isn't going to do it... ahhh BIG WASHER!

Headlight side was worse... ahhh nothing a little extra won't fix... Remember
the trim covers most of this up and the little mess popped right off with a Exacto knife.

Yes, if you know what you are looking for you can see some oozing... but

Nothing compared to what was applied! And you can see one of the washers J-B Welded in the back ground from this view of the switch.

Where plastic failed J-B rebuilt... the switch J-B was the fast setting stuff,
which worked a good bit better.

Yep, I agree ....close up it doesn't really look good.

Not good at all....

But another washer with the screw and perfecto fito!
Here was my reasoning.... used bezel off ebay ( if you can find one with all the tabs intact ) are usually $40-$50 and UP. The tank switch can be purchased at any local retailer for $12. That's fine until it all breaks again. It's just not strong enough to take the years of usage...at least mine wasn't.
And again.. you get to provide the solution yourself. I plan to take it off once more and J-B Weld on some of the broken tabs off the top edge possibly but the dash doesn't make a sound now.
