Just thought i'd introduce myself. Just picked up an 83 F150 Reg cab longbed 302 4 spd 4x4 for 600 bucks. Frame doesn't have any rust on it. The bed is has some rust but thats about it. It needs some bodywork but nothing major. New left fender and maybe a new left bedside or just find another bed. I bought the truck to fix up and make it my daily driver eventually. Only real problem with it is that it won't stay in 1st or 3rd. Just grinds itself out. If feels like it never makes it all the way in to gear like 2nd and 4th do. Maybe a bent shift fork? Transmissions are definitely not my thing. Still haven't figured out exactly which transmission it is. It's a 3 speed plus and overdrive. Aluminum case and top mounted shifter with no linkage. I was thinking its a T170FS or T170FT? So if anyone has any advice or ideas as to what may be wrong with it i would really appreciate it. Heres one pic of if i will upload more later. Thanks, Josh
