license plate light wiring
license plate light wiring
'88 F150 standard cab, the previous owner hacked up the rear light wiring pretty bad in an attempt to add a trailer harness (I swear, anyone that doesn't know what they're doing should never touch the factory harness on any vehicle)
So as it is, the wire that goes to the under-bed lamp (I assume this is to see the spare at night?), he used one of those crimp taps on that to feed the license lights. I did look in the harness that runs along the back of the bed, but didn't see any other wires that were cut or missing.
Is this where the factory tapped the harness for these lights? I'm going to pull all the mess out and make proper connections, but it just doesn't seem right that the wires would be connected off that line...
