93 supercab front tank issues

ok i got a 93 f150 supercab with dual tanks on drivers side, the front tank was acting up like it wasnt spitting out any gas, im not sure what the problem is, but now i got a tank full of old gas cause it wont suck out the gas for some reason, ive looked under neath and found a fuel filter, but i only found one, so im guessing that both have the same filter, so its got to be something in the tank, i think its a 19-21 gallon tank, but is there anyway to maybe suck out the gas in order to drop the tank, ive heard it is something in the tank like the sending unit, the gas guage is the same for both tanks, the front tank shows no gas, and im thinking that the back tank is about to go out also, any suggestions on what to do or what it might be, ill fix it myself cause i dont trust the auto shops around hear.

thanks

I have a 91 ext cab with the same tank set-up and had a little bit of the same problem. I have been re-doing my truck so it has been off the road for the last 2yrs and had about a 1/2 tank of gas in the front tank. The easiest way for me to get the gas out was to drop the tank, take out the sending unit, and remove the gas with a pump. I needed a new tank and new sending unit and fuel pump anyway, so that's why I did it but it was a very easy removal and I felt like it was the quickest way to remove the gas. As for the fuel filter, yes there is only one and it should be located on the driver side frame rail. As for your problem, it sounds like it is with the sending unit. The float, fuel pump, and sending unit are all one item. I hope that helped a little.

I have a 93 supercab dual tank drivers side as well I have a 18 (front) 16 (rear) and It's most likely the fuel pump or sending unit is out. you can syphen the gas out if you don't mind some gas in your mouth haha or you just set a jack in the middle of it and slowly drop it down and then repair or empty and repair the set it back in there, I had to do that to my back tank and now my front tank did the same so I gotta get a new fuel pump for it as well and fix some holes in it but yeah best guess is your fuel pump they range in price from 60 to 200 mine I think was about 100 but I'm not for sure this was a ways ago about 3 years ago haha hope I helped

Sounds like a loose or punctured fuel line.
