fueling problems

Alright so I have a 95 f150 with the 5.0l. It has dual tanks. Yesterday the truck wouldn't start right away, I didn't hear the fuel pump pumping so I cycled the key and then I heard it and it started. Then drove about 50 feet and the truck died and wouldn't restart. Cranks fine and everything seems to work but I can't hear the fuel pump going. I tried switching tanks and didn't hear the pump on either one and wouldn't start for either one and both tanks had fuel. So I left and came back 2 hours later and it started fine and I drove it home. My cousin mentioned checking the ECM(PCM maybe, I don't remember what he said) fuse and the fuel pump relay but then it restarted so I wasn't sure if these were the culprit or not. Any ideas since it affects both pumps?

sounds electrical to me, although with my squad car when the fuel pump has started going out it runs fine until the vehicle has run for awhile. then it doesnt want to move. if i let it sit for a couple hours its fine. i wouldnt think its a pump if you switched tanks and didnt hear it run. the chance of 2 pumps going out at once would be a freak thing. i would check fuses, relays and pcm.

just my 2 cents

Try replacing fuel filter & Do a Fuel pressure test.
