E4OD compression braking

On my 95 F250 (460 E4OD) it seem that when I am going down a hill, I have no drag coming from the tranny almost like it is in neutral. I have to rev it a bit just to get back in the power. I have owned this truck for 1 year and know nothing about what had been done for prior maintenance.

115,000 miles or so

did a scan and got code 626, may end up taking it to a tranny shop to get it taken care of. getting ready to tow my Jeep 800 miles round trip, so it needs to work right (there is no way I am driving the Jeep on the highway for that kind of time)

what I have noticed while driving the truck was (try this with yours) when driving down a slight incline and there is a speed zone ahead, take the truck out of OD to slow down a little, this is where my truck shows it's problem. When I take mine out of OD, there is no increased drag to slow me down, but the tranny does downshift to 3rd, but just free-wheels. If the tranny is going out, I may go a little different route, but I was wondering if someone else has had problems like this before.
