I have a 96 with a Windsor. I have Flow Master 40 SI/DO. It sounds good, has a nice rumble to it but not very loud. High flow cats would fix that though.

I find the 50 series to quiet.

You could start the cheapest way and just cut the muffler off, unless of course you live in a state with yearly checks.

Or you could run high flow cats with a 40 series muffler, that sounds pretty good.

The opportunities are endless. I personally like Magnaflow mufflers better than Flowmaster.

With your motor, I say just stick with the Org. 40. If that is not loud enough, install some hi flow cats in place of your stock ones.

i say definately go with high flow cats. flowmasters aint too loud to start with. i had a flowmaster si/do with stock cats and it just robbed performance. (about as much lost as what you could gain with a good system, nothin crazy but noticeable)

IMO the flowmaster 40 with a high flow cat sounds amazing for the most part. the only issue i have is mine gets annoying cruising at 60mph.

i also like the sound of the hooker aerochamber muffler but only with a single high flow cat or no cats. too quiet with stock cats.

i'm not a big fan of magnaflow mufflers with these trucks.

Just cut off the muffler and run a single pipe from the cat. Bring it out before the passenger tire. The cat provides plenty of backpressure and your truck will sound good. I did this on my f250 and have not regretted it.

flowmaster super 44 behind my 302 with stock cats on my old truck was the perfect tone and sounded real mean and aggressive
