So I have a 1986 F150 4x4 with a 4.9l in it and I also have a 1992 F150 2wd with a 4.9l in it and am interested in swapping the motors so that I have the EFI in the 86. I know I have to swap the computers but what I am curious about is wether the computer in the 86 controls anything to do with the transmission/transfer case? I want to be able to keep the 4wd in the 86.

 

What transmission is in the 86 and what transmission is in the 92? If you don't know, post the trans code from the door jamb sticker.
