93 F150 5.0 V8 codes

so I pulled the codes on my new (well old? ) F150 and I got the following. the key on test without the engine running tossed code 14 and 63. running the engine gave a 98 code and a 63 code.

I bought a new TPS and will replace it tommorrow, is this a good diagnosis so far? the old tps had a water hose near it that was spraying water all over (lots of rust everywhere) and I think it may have hosed the TPS. literally right near the hose that was leaking and one of the connectors was under the dripping water being sprayed out.

After it pulled the 98 (big failure) and 63 codes, it cycled the second time and just appeared to freeze. faulty code reader or that's a bad enough code that it freezes? I purchased the innova 3145 reader, couldn't deal with the old sunpro I have that just beeps and blinks

I left it for about a full minute and it just stayed frozen. During this time also the engine stumbled, cutting out very briefly then idled high for a brief second and just went "normal" it smells like it's running rich and really has no power. It did it twice, I ran the code reader two times for accuracy sake. Driving it back about 12 miles it had no real power and the transmission seems to be lurching a bit around 35-40

would the code 14 be a bad one also, ie something is starting to go? It went away when the engine was run so i'm guessing it was just a fluke more then anything
