93 f150 wont start need HELP!!!!

Hello all. I am new to Fords. Just bought a 93 F150. The guy i got it from said it needed a fuel pump. i checked it out, got a new one installed, it wont get power. i can hotwire it to work but id prefer for it to be done correctly. also, i cannot get power to the ignition coil. no spark. i have replaced the ignition coil, ignition starter switch, ignition module tested good. all fuses and relays have been checked.

is my problem with the ECM? what about the ignition suppression resistor? if so, where is the resistor located?

need any advice y'all can give me. the motor will turn over all day long with the key but i cannot get power to the ignition or fuel pump.

1993 Ford F150, with a 351W motor. auto trans. 372k miles.

thanks in advance. I appreciate it.

-Danny

did you check the inertia switch?

Do you have power to the coil, through the little wires that hook on the coil, with the switch on and not cranking the engine? If yes, it could be the computer.

You replaced the coil and tested the ignition module, there's one more component the PIP inside the distributor. But first you need to have power to the coil with the switch on. If you unplug the spout connecter, what you unplug to set the timing, it will give you spark while cranking when the computer goes bad. But again you first need to have power to the coil with the switch on.

That won't solve the no power to the fuel pump problem, check the inertia switch as Matts suggested. If you can get spark through the plug wires while cranking with the spout connecter unplugged and no power to the fuel pump, it could be the computer.

Fuses & fuseable links? PCM relay was one of the relays you checked? Had spark before fuel pump change?

ok. just to clarify a bit more. i can turn the key on. get power to everything except for the fuel pump and ignition coil. the inertia switch has been checked and reset. all fuses have been checked. all relays have been checked and swapped around. like taking the horn relay and swapping it with the fuel pump.

i have not had power to the fuel pump the whole time. i have had no power to the ignition coil the whole time.

any more ideas?

Can't swap a PCM relay w/ anything but a PCM relay. Just because another type fits, dosen't mean it's configured the same internally. It's next to the F/P relay. Can you feel it pulling in w/ your hand on it when someone turns the key on. It activates the F/P relay among other things. The PCMR energizes a hair before the FPR.

Well my 93 5.0 I replaced the fuel pump you might want to get under and drop the tank and look to make sure all the connections are there. when you turn the key to accessory mode do you hear the pump running gas to the engine?

Sound like a fusable link if problem is common to the coil as well. Make sure you are using a known ground when checking for voltage.
