no engine power???

hi, i have a 1994 f150. the other day i was driving down a rough road, and i got to a snow bank so i gave it some gas to get through, and the engine just bogged down, and tires stopped. i put it low range and got out just fine. a little while later on the highway home, the truck had no power even with my foot to the floor, i couldnt get up to the speed limit. the next day everything was fine. this has happened a few times and i was wondering if anyone had any ideas what it was??? any help would be appreciated

Change your fuel filter, and have a muffler shop test your cats for clogging with an infrared tester.

Error Code scan results will also help. Not sure how or why, but Clogged cats will act up sporadically at first, but will progressively worsen in intensity & frequency. You can temporarily remove the o2 ahead or the cat when the problem occurs, to see if the drivability problem goes away, implying a back pressure issue.

update: i changed the fuel filter, and air filter, this made a great improvement. about a day later my exhaust started leaking at the cat, so i removed it temporairily and replaced it with a piece of pipe while waiting for a new one. i have driven the truck a few times and it is running significantly better, but still looses power occasionally (not nearly as bad as before) i have no check engine light, and no other problems. any ideas?
