my cousin has a 94 or 95 f150 extended cab 4x4 with a 5 speed that is toast now my question is will a 4 speed use the same mounts and driveshafts.hes gone through 3 5 speeds so hes looking at different options. any advice would be great

 

Is he keeping oil in the thing. If so is it the right kind of oil. Obviously not. These transmissions are known for being weak,but the only weakness is running with no lube. Mine has 200,000 miles on it and the thing has not burn out. One option I've reserched, if mine ever goes, is get a bell housing adapter and put in a NP 4500 5 speed.

 

Is the tranny a m5 or a zf? The zf is a stronger trans he may want to try that also.

A 94/95 wouldn't have a ZF.

 

a f250 or larger sould have a zf in it that will work.
