replace hinges or just the pins/bushings

I need to either replace the four hinges on my '95, or maybe just the pins and bushings on each hinge. My question- Has anyone done this fix? are the pins and bushings easy to replace? I imagine that getting the bronze bushings out of the hinge will take some beating....or maybe I should just drill them out.

I have replaced my door hinge pins and bushings on my 89 F 150. You'll just need somebody to help you hold the door while you drive out/reinstall the pins:thumbsup. the bushings can be tight but most of the time you can drive them out with a good punch. I would do just the pins and bushings and not remove the hinges because then you'll have to realign your door. while your in there i would also replace my door strike bushing or at least inspect them. door will shut like new when your done.

I always just throw in a junkyard hinge. It may be more work, but I prefer the reliability of stock parts over new aftermarket ones. For more info, click my black Bronco in my sig & read the captions in the Doors album, and also Body Repairs.

It's common to all vehicles; especially the driver's door, which gets the most use.

But if you follow the maintenance instructions in the owner's manual, it'll take 30 years instead of 10 for the hinge to get loose.
