I learned a lesson...

well when southest pa got about a foot of snow on the 19-20th of december i was out drivin and stuff when it started and didn't need to put it in 4WD. but then nighttime rolled around, and some buds wanted to go snowboarding .right near my house is a slight hill and i couldn't get it in 2wd so i got out to put it in 4wd. when i went to lock the hubs, it took a lot more force than usual ( and i had used it less than a week earlier to get out my backyard lol) to lock the hubs. i get back in the truck to put it in 4wd. nothing. she goes in 4wd, spinning the transfer case, but my front tires aren't spinning . so i tried to go a different way and well...to make a long story short...that didn't work either . so today when i installed some 1.5" springs in the front i took the hubs apart. they where filled with so much crap that u think they would have packed with a shovelful of dirt and grime instead of grease. here, all this junk building up prevented the gears from all meshing. those couple times in a mudhole really came back and bit me in the butt bad . moral of the story-check ur hubs so that when u actually need them, they will work.

OR after playing in the muck, check all your fluids, bearings, joints. a little preventive maintenance after playing would have kept that from happening! lol

lol yes that would be the best thing to do and should be done after mudding. but what can be done to prevent water from entering the breather hoses on the rears?

get some tubing and run it from the axle up to a dry place, like under the hood. it may be long but it works.
