Traction

Alright this is just a crazy question. I own a 2wd truck and iw aswondering what ways i coul dget better traction through out the winters besides sand bags in the bed and studded tires. somewhere i came across an article saying installing an LSD would improve traction offroad/onroad in situations like snow. Is this true? What other meathods could be used to increase traction?

You have 3.55 Non-Limited Slip, so yes you would benifit from LS.

You could always duck tape a couple of your friends to the left & right fenders, each with a big bag of rock salt! Short beer runs anyway.

Doing a carrier swap is not particularly difficult if you have all the necessary tools and a shop manual but it is really not a job for beginners. There is almost zero room for error in putting a rear end together. If none of your friends have done one before, it will be the blind leading the blind.
