question - Should the AC compressor come on when I have my defroster on?

Currently when I have my selector **** on anything other than vent my AC compressor comes on. When i have it on vent it warms up nice but when I have it on defrost or floor it does not get warm..

If this is not correct what could cause this?

 

Yes, I read a review from a F150 owner online and found out the A/C comes on with the defroster. I thought something was wrong with mine too at first.
