What's the max recommended towing capacity for 1990 F150 straight-6 4x4. I don't know which/size straight-6 it is.

It's a 4.9 litre (300 CID) but that doesn't give us enough information.
Towing capacity also depends on which transmission you have and what your rear axle ratio is.

 

...and wheelbase, factory options, aftermarket options, tire size/rating, brake maintenance, hitch type & rating, trailer type, trailer brakes, the road conditions, the towing speed...


I've towed over 10Kip with mine, but under very specific conditions. I rolled the truck towing 5Kip incorrectly.
