as long as you use a computer for the e40d and the computer is tuned for the engine in the 92 then yes it will work. what trans does the 92 have? is the e40d from a 4x4? driveshafts may be different if the transmissions are different. tell us what each of the trucks have and we can tell you what you'll need. the bellhousing from a modular v8 will not match up to your engine though so you gotta make sure that the trans is from a pre-97 truck.

The pinouts on the connectors may be different. There were some changes year to year.

ok i am driving a 92 f150, E40d,im not sure of the transfer case i know its a borge and warner, 5.0, and i plow, i was having a slamming into gear and stalling when put into reverse, also shifting funny and not fully engaging into over drive, i hear that the 95 E40d trans are better, i have been trying to get my trans out and a bellhousing bolt broke off (one that holds the trans dip stick) and now i cant get it to brake from the engine, any advice?
