87 5.8L F150 -- belt/pulley info???
Hi there,
I have a buddy with a 1987 F150, V8 5.8L with AC.
Wondering if anyone has any info regarding the pulley system, and replacement v-belts.
Specifically, I'm looking to charge up his AC system, but he is missing the belt that goes to the compressor. He also said he is missing an idler pulley that pulls the belt down below the radiator hose. Right now, he has two belts. One runs the alt/air pump, and another runs the fan/PS.
Contacted the dealership, but they weren't very helpful. Hopefully someone here has a bit more expertise than they do!
Thanks in advance,

That's a stepchild engine - all other F150s that year went to a serpentine belt system, AND were fuel-injected. There was a TSB for converting it, but it involve$ changing the timing cover, water pump, & all the pullie$.
Yeah, I tried two auto parts retailers and the dealership, none of them could help me with diagrams, parts or any other info.
If it comes down to it, I guess I might have to take a string and try and find a belt length that will run crank to AC compressor only.
