94 vs 95 E4OD, compatible?

I have a 1994 F150 5.8 w/ 20 bolt pan, but no id plate, and the trans is toast, will the E4OD out of a 1995 Bronco 5.8 work. The Hollander books say is diff, but not if it will work or not. From what I can find the 95 is just updated.

The 95 tranny will bolt in place (and the '95 is better and stronger internally) but IIRC the pinouts on the electrical control connector are different. I do not know if it is possible to cut and splice to adapt one to the other or not but I highly doubt it.

Nothing you're likely to be able to do today

Get copies of the EVTM (Electronics & Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual) for both a 94 and a 95 F150 and compare the connector diagram and which pinouts are relocated. If any are added or missing, you're screwed.

You can usually buy the CDs with the complete set of manuals for a given model and year on them from eBay. If your Ford dealer is feeling very, very co-operative, he may let you look at his but I sure wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Yes, you can repin and wire the newer MLPS. Infact it's a solution to the older MLPS having a problem of leaking in water.
