no 4wd lights

when 4x4 is engaged the indicator does not light up, when put into 4x4 low range only the 4x4 light comes on, just wondering what might cause this. truck is a 1995 150 5.0 with aode trans and bw transfer.

Have you read the owner's manual about how the lights work? Look at items #41, 42, & 55:

the 4x4 bulb is alright but the low range bulb is a possibility, i'm going to try and go through it all today but i suspect it to be the indicator switch on the case. thanks a lot for the diagram steve83

ur sure its engaging right? u can feel it go into low range? Cause i had a similar problem and it was the 4x4 computer that was bad, luckily i had a spare one and threw that in and it worked fine. Could also be a wire going to the computer thats f'ed up. the computer is on the passenger side behind the kick plate.
good luck!

it's definately engaging in 4L so i'd assume 4h is fine, should just need the indicator switch. i've gotta put my car back together before i can get into working on the truck so i'll figure it out than. gotta install the 6" skyjacker i just picked up.. gonna replace all the u joints and ball joints so i dont have to worry about any of that for a while
