1994 F-150 Lightning 5.8L

i have an issue with my 94 f-150 lightning 5.8l with about 140K, when i let it sit over night or even about 8 hrs of being at work when i start it up i get a rapping noise from the right side of the engine like it looses oil pressure, sounds like a rocker or push-rod issue just curious if anyone else has had this issue. think is should add some Wynns 50+ to oil change im running 10w30 and i live in Maine, USA, i recently purchesed intake gaskets n what not assuming its my rockers or pushrods, just wanted some feed back b4 i rip it apart. Thanks alot,
Evan

How long does it take for the noise to go away? It could possibly be a stuck lifter. I've had that happen to me before and it made a tapping noise.

I suggest this before you tear into it:
http://www.nloc.net/vbforum/gen-1-lightnings/

This doesn't apply to your truck, but it's worth reading.

What are you talking about? Does your L have a 4.9L engine?

What does that have to do with engine noise?

But I only posted it to illustrate how 'engine' noises don't have to come from the engine. In another thread (on another BBS), a guy thought his oil pump had gone bad & wanted to know how to change it. Turned out his starter Bendix wasn't retracting. The point is: don't jump to a conclusion. Get a mechanic's stethoscope & pinpoint the sound before buying or disassembling anything.
