88 interchange to 93

I am looking at a 88 donor truck and would like to know if the body lines are any different, they look the same to me.

I know the front fenders and grille are different. The donor truck is a 88 250 with a 460 FI super cab long bed with dual tanks. Mine is a 93 150 w/ 5.8 super cab long bed with dual tanks.

Is the easiest way to find out about fuel pumps and sending units to see if they are the same part numbers at a local auto parts supplier or can anyone tell me?

any help would be great.. thanx

Front clip is different as you see, but the two fuel systems are different between those years. 88 has the more troublesome low pressure pumps in tank with a high pressure boost pump on the framerail. You want to keep the 89+ style single high pressure in tank pumps.

What exactly do you want to take from the donor truck?

adrian's right - you can't use any of the fuel system except MAYBE the tanks.

I will be keeping the cab-bed-rear bumper-maybe misc undercarriage stuff it its interchangable..

I am using the cab-bed-keeping both tanks-if any of the brakelines and what not are the same I will change those..

I will be selling the fenders and hood.. I will also sell off my old cab and bed-the floors are mint but they are getting bad on the outside..

keeping the interior-selling off my old interior or junking whatever does not sell..

will know more when I get it home and start tearing into it..

are the core supports the same from 88-93?

There were changes in the core support where the headlights mount, but I can't remember if it's '87 or '92. Maybe both. I know there was one before '86 when the radiator went to plastic tanks.

what are the years that are in the 88 styled trucks.. 88-89 or what?

Cause I will be looking for other items for the truck and this way I can do searches without having to post tons of questions here..

thanks

well the more I look into this project I am thinking about selling the cab, cause I do not like the 88 style back windows and dash. When I get the truck home I will make the final decision but just not growing on me.

Steve83 I tried emailing you about the front end you have for sale but never heard back from you..should I pm ya instead?
