A toploader although the ratios may be too close for a truck.

A CR T-19 from a 74-85 2WD F250-350.
Ratios are: 4.02 / 2.41 / 1.41 / 1.00

What else do you need?

As long as you have an FE block, you need something that will bolt to your bellhousing. Both of those trannies will do that.

The toploader is a bulletproof performance transmission with wide and close ratio versions which may be too closely spaced for a heavy truck. The wide ratio versions may or may not work for you depending on what you want to do.

The T-19 is a HD truck tranny with a synchro 1st and ratios appropriate for a truck. There's also a wide-ratio version but you stated you didn't want a granny gear.

You could also look at a Tremec 3550 or TKO but those are 5 speeds. They will however bolt on anywhere a toploader will
