I got a 1991 F150 with an AOD transmission that the OD has gone out on, I've also got a 1989 F150 wiith what appears to be the same tranny wth one excepton the tail piece on the 91 is 11 1/4" and the 89 is 10 1/4" what do I need to do if anything to put the 89 tranny on the 91? Any and all help would be greatly apprecated.

 

Have a drive-line shop redo your drive shaft.

 

How about using the drive shaft outta the 89 that i'm takin the transmission out of?

 

Measure it anf you'll know for sure. We have no way of telling if it will work or not without knowing the relative lengths of the two shafts and the angle of the present one.
