351W Carbed going in front of built AOD...help!

Hey all! I have a 1986 F150 that came with an AOD and a mustang motor when i bought it. However, the motor blew, and I already had the AOD built, so I wanted to go bigger. I found a complete (almost turnkey) 351W for $150, thats carbureted with the stock 2bbl carb. is there an adapter for the TV cable to put it on a carb instead of a throttle body? I cant seem to locate one

Thanks!

I think most of the 351's had a C6 transmission.
You might be able to use a TV rod and actuators off a older (1983 era) 302 with a AOD.

I made a rod for the AOD in my 79f150.I had to redo it a couple of times to get all the travel so it would shift right but it wasn't too big of a deal just a little minor fab work.

the 351C's used the C-6 while the 351W used the C4's or AOD

So does anyone know if they make any aftermarket hardware for such a swap? or can I find anything that will work? I didnt think that the AOD ever came behind a 351... maybe in a mustang? I dont know...lol

And DAS...would you happen to have any pictures of what you did?

I was also considering fuel injection conversion for the 351, since my truck came fuel injected anyway... would the 302 throttle body I have work if i got a 351 intake (since i already know the intakes are not compatible...and so are the exhaust manifolds i believe? i might be wrong...)

They make kits for a Holley four barrel that could be adapted to a Motorcraft two barrel (if that is what you still have). Check Jegs or Summit in the carb section, or even the trans section. Just remember to have someone adjust the cable for the correct pressure afterwards so you don't burn up the trans. Have to use a special gauge block on the cable and a trans pressure gauge hooked to the pressure port on the trans.

No, not in trucks.

Only application of an AOD behind a carbed 351W is the late 80's Crown Vics that didn't get EFI and were ordered with the 351HO. Up to '90 I think.

I'll try to get a pic of my linkage. It's kinda rough cause I was fine tuning iit and was going to make a nicer looking one but I got the 93Lightning about then and since the rod worked,it stayed.I don't drive the old truck much since I got the second L.
