1992 F150 6 cyl. potential problems ??

i'm buying a 92 F150 with a 6 cyl engine. i have never owned a ford before so i'm not sure what i need to be looking for on these trucks. anyone know of any well known problems with this particular vehicle? the owner has stated that the oil pressure guage occasionally goes to 0 while he's driving it. oil pump or guage?

i had a 89 f-150 with the 300 i6 its a great engine will last forever if you take care of it i wrapped my truck around a fire hydrant and it still ran with the radiator up into the pulleys for the oil pressure i had the same problem it was always low never at 0 but low i just put lucas in it and it was fine id go with the oil pump and if you want to upgrade that get a high volume not high pressure pump other than that its a great truck

on second thought could be the oil press sendin unit maybe the wire isnt hooked up tight enough check that or get an aftermarket oil pressure guage a mechanical one and hook it up that will tell you exactly how many psi you have at all times
