Cleaning under the hood?
Whats an acceptable method to clean under the hood of my pickup? When my brother worked at a Ford dealership, he said they'd usually spritz everything down with some all-purpose cleaner and then hit it with a steam cleaner. However, I'm not too sure if thats good for electrical components.
Any ideas?

The way I have always done it is: cover all electrical parts (distributor and coil etc.) with a plastic bag or something to that efftect, and then with a good degreaser spray it all over the engine, and most brands of degreasers will ask you to let it sit for a few minutes to dissolve the grease and grim, then just spray it off with the garden hose. There are also some products that you can apply after degreasing the engine that will make all of the plastic parts, hoses, and other components shine real nice, like new, most of those products will generally allow you to spray them all over the entire engine including electrical, just don't apply an excessive amount directly onto any one electrical component. If you want I can get the names of some engine cleaning products, just tell me and I can post them tommorow.
