4.9L Missing
It's been several months with the EGR vacuum line unhooked. The engine light is on all the time once it warms up, but the truck is still running great. Moisture or corrosion on the pickup in the distributor might cause a slight bump in the idle, but I have noticed that regardless of how new the TPS is, most trucks will still have a stumble when cold, or at low RPM with a full draw on the Alternator. Tell us a little more about your problem, the symptoms, and we might be able to figure out a quick fix or test to find the problem. The only bad news I have is that I've been through 2 windshields on the winter roads here in NY.

I'm going to try some of the suggestions in this thread, but the problem I'm having seems slightly different. My '93 F-150 4.9 manual, accelerates well, but at the top of second starts to miss. The miss is noticeable in third, fourth and OD, but the truck idles and starts perfectly. When it first started I thought a tire had gotten out of balance because I didn't hear or notice a miss when at low speed. The miss started suddenly not gradually, and hasn't disappeared. I replaced plugs, cap, rotor and wires, still misses. There is also a "roar" when at high RPM. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
