Question no cruise;speedo;odometer

I've got a 93 F-150 XLT 5.0 with towing pkg. That the cruise control kicks out speedo pegs out, no odometer and trans shifts hard. I got no blown fuses. Everything will start working again if I shut off the truck for at least a few minutes or just keep driving and all will start working again sooner or later. Sometimes if I have the headlights on during the day and turn them off and presto a few minutes later it all starts up again. The cruise does not have to be engaged for everything to wig out. Sometimes you drive it solid for 8 hours and nothing will happen other times just 30 miles. HELP!!!!!

Sounds like it could be a loose wire that is shorting out every so often. Unfortunately, the only way to fix would be to trace all your wiring(probably under the dash) and see if you can find the short area. Did you install an aftermarket stereo? A lot of times a shorft will occur after an installation of one of those.
Good Luck

Sorry it took so long to get back to ya, I had to escape to Fla. for a while got tired looking at snow. Thanks for the tip as soon as it starts to warm up I,ll start to check it out, no new radio or anyting, had 1 guy from the dealer tell me it might be a vehicle speed sensor or the hole instument cluster? I found this web site , and thought somebody might have had the same problem. still a great web site.

I doubt its the vehicle speed sensor. When I bought my pickup, the speedo head was bad. Needle bounced, cruise would kick in and out, off light flashed on shifter. I had to replace the whole cluster/since the speedo head wouldn't come separately. Since one component caused all of those problems, that could be yours as well. I was lucky because the parts dept loaned me a used cluster that they were sending back to get changed from a KMph unit to mph one to plug in to my pickup to see if it cleared up any of the problems. You might see if your dealer can do the same as the cluster is about $300
