Question EGR VALVE

I am wanting to trouble shoot my EGR Valve by plugging the vacuum line on my '95 4.9L I6. Where is the valve located and where does this vacuum line run to? If this test corrects the problem, what is my next step? Should I be looking at a new EGR Valve?

Found my EGR valve and with unhooking the vac line my troubles are gone. Now do I need to replace a $100 EGR Valve, or a $25 EGR Valve Position Sensor? Or do I need to look at something else?

Haven't worked on the I6 BUT if its like the 302 then make sure that A: you have a good seal from the sensor to the valve itself. No seal = no vacuum = poor running.

B: Check to see that you can physically manipulate the mechanical valve.. basically squeeze it.. does it go up and down easily? Yes? Then its the sensor.
