Backfire!! Engine Troubles.

I have a 84 f150 with a 351w and it has a problem with backfiring all the time. Recently it is doing it alot and losing power. Any suggestions?

A common cause of blasting in the exhaust system is an intermittent ignition system.

Based on the limited info you've given, my guess is the timing chain jumped a tooth.
How many miles on the engine?
