Temperature Guage Intermittant
I was reading another post about Temp Guages on the 95 models failing. Mine is intermittant. It either reads correctly or
it reads like the engine is going to blow up.
I was going to replace the sender, but the automotive mental giant at the local parts store gave me the wrong part. I haven't gotten around to troubleshooting the prob. Any suggestions or similar problems? I hope it is only the sender and not the guage..

Hey bulk,
I had my temp gage go after only 60K miles on my 95 F-150. First it started to act intermittent and I changed the sending unit. Didn't help. I finally quit working and would go from zero to negative when the truck was started. I finally decided to have Ford look at it for $30, and they said it was the gage. I bought a new gage for $150! Guess what I'll be doing this weekend.
Anyone have experience with changing the temp gage?

Same problem here temp. gauge drives full cold when truck is on. The book says to take the connector off the sender and ground the connector to the truck and it should drive the temp. gauge full hot. If it does the sender is bad. If it doesn't, (like mine), then most likely it is the gauge. I've heard of a lot of bad gauges besides mine, seems to be a fairly common problem.

Thanks guys. My indication is either normal operations or full hot. I will troubleshoot it some time down the line. I looked at the guage cluster, and it looks like a real pain in the rear....

The JBA Headers are of good quality. They bolted up like they were meant to be there.
I didn't get the ceramic headers. I have the Nickel plated headers. I have had them for about a year, and they look good. As far as performance goes, I think they helped a little bit. The truck is a little more "throaty". I have 3.08 gears and the AODE/4R70W Type tranny that wants to upshift
as if to save on gas which in turn makes me put my foot into it. What a joke. I guess I will put a chip into it or regear the rear (depends on expense). It took me about 4 or so hours to install the headers. I haven't done an install like that on a truck.
The engine has very little room on the Passenger side..
