Question clutch squeak

I have a 96' F150 with the 5spd. My clutch has a bad squeak. I removed the rubber plug from the bellhousing and sprayed WD-40 on the slave cylinder/pressure plate mating area. After a while it stopped, and the clutch felt MUCH smoother and worked easier. But it didn't last long. What causes this?? Also, the clutch fluid goes down slowly between each time I check it. The squeak is really bad and the clutch doesn't work very smoothly. Any help appreciated.
