Post 95 F150 Steering ratio

I'm getting old and would like to be able to go around corners without turning the wheel round twice. Is there any way or any thing available to reduce the steering ratio so less turns on the wheel makes the truck more responsive?

The shop manual for my 96 lists the ratio as 17:1, which is plenty fast enough. The problem lies in wheelbase, which you cannot fix and in weight transfer, which you can. A REAR swaybay will reduce steering inputs at higher speeds. Nothing easy will help at low speeds. You could have a longer Pittman arm custom machined to speed up the steering response, but that can play havoc with the rest of your steering geometry and may prove to be a bad idea in the long run. If you go this route, count on getting it wrong at least the first couple of times.
