Question Radiators

I have a 1993 F-150 with the 5.8. It did not come with the towing package, therefore I have the smaller radiator. What different options were there in radiators in this model year? I want to upgrade to the larger radiator, but when I call parts stores, some list 2, 3, and 4 core. I don't even know which one mine is and I don't know which one I should get. I should mention the reason I'm doing this is the current radiator is shot and I've done many power mods and am going to a 408 stroker so a bigger one is definately in order. Thanks for any help. Keith

Question

Play it safe and get the most rows. A cheap investment.

I guess I didn't know that Ford used the smaller radiator in the 351 equipped F-150's. My 1993 has the 302 and trailer package, and it has the largest radiator available on the F-150.

Once, again I agree with Max, I would get the most possible.

If you want to offload your 351W, I might be interested.

Do the '93s have mass air?

Long time no speak Mike...

To answer your question. NO, all 93's are speed Density. Some 94's and 95's are speed density too.

Hi there, Pastmaster. Yeah, I've been on the move and am just getting settled in here in Korea. Won't be long till its time to come back home!

The truck is taking a one-year siesta... But planning for the 351W swap when I get back... and maybe new paint... new padding in the seat... tightening of the door guts... etc. :-) Can't wait!!

I guess I forgot to mention my 93 F-150 is a Lightning, so to answer some questions, it is speed density, all 93-95 Lightnings were and no, I am not willing to offload the 351. That is going to be used in another project. It's funny that I never got an answer to my original question though. I already know I want the biggest radiator I can get my hands on, but no one told me what was offered as OEM. But no matter, I've found a 4 core radiator and am on the road with no cooling problems at all.

I have had a hard time finding out anything other than # of cores myself when asking the same question.

Have thought about going with Ford's unit, but have seen plenty of other units out there that are probably better for about the same price.
