93 - 2WD Ball Joints
I found my upper R/H joint is a little worn. So I plan to replace them all saturday. I've never done them before and was hoping to get any tips if there are any I should know about.
In my "Haynes" repair manual it states "Mark the orientation of the upper balljoint camber/caster adjuster sleeve (located in axle assembly) for proper positioning upon reassembly."
however the only figure only shows a "camber adapter". Are these one in the same????
If they are the same, i dont see how you can re-install them wrong ???? (unless you switched left and right)
Thanks for any tips / thoughts

Jetmech, Had mine replaced a year ago, and as much as I prefer doing my own service, I sent it out for the ball joints. If I rember, was about $300.00 total. Figure $60.00 for alignment, $100.00 for parts, and the rest labor. At $59.00 per hour, figured it was a good deal. Front ends have always made me hesitate. Nothing worse than having your ride all apart in the driveway on Sunday and you need some small part (when the stores are closed).
Good Luck,

Hey, I just installed a drop kit this weekend, and the front is something you can do. Once the wheel is off, you have to remove a pin, and a castle nut. Take the castle nut off the front tierod also, and use a ball joint tool to pull it. Then mark the ecentric spacer on the top, and pry the spindle down. Watch out cuz it'll drop fast. Once it's down, you're good to go. E-mail me if you have any q's
