Jacobs Ignition?
Yes I have one on my 94 302. It evened out the idel and I had to advance the timming to 3 degres. the mpg did increase by 2-3mpg and i can feel a hp and tourqu increase. I would call them and get more information if you are realy interested.
I had one on my '92 F-150 with the 302 and it worked great also. I noticed about 1 MPG improvement and a little more power also. I did not bump the timing up though. I have one on my 5.0 Mustang now and it gave better improvements there.

I have a MSd ignition in my 93 302, and like stephen said, there is an immidiate difference, I put mine on during christmas break, and since then noticed a 2-3 mpg better, and you can feel a seat-of-the-pants difference. good luck with your choice

PastmasteR: I was thinking about upgrading to the MSD ignition as well. Do you like yours? Where did you buy it? And does it work ok with performance chips?
Thanks

BMW325:
I wasn't going to get one in the first place, but a friend had one, off his 95 Bronco, and it was on a earlier truck too, (unknown what it was). Got it for 50 bucks, and it has been the best money spent so far. I gained at least 2-3mpg's and I would guess at least 15-20hp too. I have 8.6mm wires with Motorcraft plugs. Planning for 9mm and side-gapped plugs during the summer. He had a blaster coil too, but it was dud. Bought another one. I am very happy with it. If your still running factory wires, I would recommend new wires, plugs distributor cap, etc etc when you do your convert.
As far as problems with a chip, I don't notice any at all. I have a Hypertech chip in my truck, and it was a early version, not sure about hp/torque differences. Do you remember what the hp/torque ratings where on your chip? I may order anew one, and sell the old chip.
I need all the mpg's I can get now. Last fillup cost $40. I am beginning to hate that!

Pastmaster, Only $40.00 to fill up. Hell regular gas is $1.49/gal in Rhode Island. Cost me $51.50 to fill both tanks tonight. OUCH!

pastmaster: All my plugs and wires and stuff are new but they are OEM parts factory stuff. I am thinking about replacing the plug wires with some 8.8MM Accels. Do you think It would help any if the rest of the components are stock?
Nailer:Its getting out of hand!
BMW: Thats what I currently have 8.8mm Accel wires...If I were you...go with a 9mm set. IF your cap/rotor are in great shape, then you don't need to replace them. I am going to do it, because (1) they're cheap (2)going to do it, so I'll know its done.

KED, Stephen_T, Pastmaster,
Did you install the whole Jacobs package? I know they sell three different packages, starting with just a coil. I was wondering if any of you had installed just the coil. Thanks.

tim_1911, I installed the whole package, coil, mileage master computer and Jacobs wires. I opened up the plug gap to .060 and bumped my initial timing up on the Mustang. I still have the one off the '92 F-150 in my garage collecting dust.

tim_1911, sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I will get the kit out this weekend and make sure everything is there. I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work with mass-air. If everything is there I'll be glad to unload it. I'll let you know more this weekend.
