Cool

Rob, ain't gone wheelin' yet, I need the truck for the daily commute to Norwalk, too nervous about breakin somethin. I had a 97 150, which I wouldn't bring off road at all. That frame would flex at the sight of a hill. It rode like a Cadilac, but sucked at anything Off-Road. I think this TTB suspension is one of thee best, but aligneing them sure is a bitch.

I know what you mean. I commute 55 miles round trip minimum. I have to be careful when wheeling, but I let loose every once in a while.
The TTB certaintly is tough. My friends can't believe I am still driving my truck after what it has been through. Good thing it is a Ford.
The frame flex is the beauty of the Fords. I figure it gives me about 3-4 more inches of wheel travel. That and the long bed keep me going since I have no lockers.
Take that beast wheeling. You'd be surprised at what it can take. Just don't blame me if something breaks! It will be fun though.

HIgh Lift Coil Springs "1996 F150 Extended Cab"

I Wanted to beef up my front end so I could put a plow on my truck.

I bought and installed some SuperLift Front coil springs.

I have also replaced the Front shocks to be longer than stock.

My question is do I need to have the front end aligned ?
I received some bushings with the Super lift coil springs and went to a mechanic so some advice and he said that it would cost $200 to align because he has to pull the lower ball joint to install these bushings.

Does this sound right.

Thanks, Tom

I just finished a 6" superlift on my truck a couple weeks ago. It was tough, but we did it. Had a real hard time trying to align it. Took it to Belle tire on a Sat. then Pep boys on a Sunday, they could'nt do it. Everybody told me a specialty place (Blue water tires), it's just a place where the alignment guy is experianced at doing lifted trucks. He did install a $30 bushing to make it a grand total of $90 for the alignment, so if someone wants to charge you $200, i'd check somewhere else.

I would post some pics of my freshly lifted truck (along with short write up of the install), but no one has showed me how yet.

Coil Lift

Thanks Mike for the reply.

Did your guy have to pull the ball joints to put in the bushings.

It sounds like he did not have to. This mechanic is telling me I have to ?

I am going to check around and get more estimates.

Thanks, Tom
