'91 Performance Improvments
Alright, it's becoming apparent to me that I'm going to have to come up with a game plan for improving this engine!! Too many things I want to do to the truck overall, and there's no sense in adding parts now when I might make other changes later that will make those parts useless...
The truck is a '91 with the 302. Sounds like I might want to change it over to mass air from speed-density... But I don't know if that's truly worth the cost. Or do I just want a newer model 302 installed? That's probably the first thing I need to decide.
I think Ford made some further improvements to the 302 after '91 that might be worth just swapping to a newer engine ('96??) before supercharging, etc. Thoughts?
Then there comes the problem of making the other mods. Should I change out my coil and ignition or add a K&N FIPK now or wait till after I decide what to do with the engine? Don't most superchargers come with their own intake systems (would it be best to wait until ordering the supercharger?)
No sense in spending money twice. Any ideas on how to break down this project into steps would be appreciated. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Mike
