Question Duals on a 302?

Has anyone taped the sound with glasspacks on a 302. I was curious to compare with mine. Nomo did you tape your F-150? I know that you saved your duals on your Expedition. Thanks for any help!

I haven't recorded the F150, but I can.

It doesn't have "true" duals because I want to keep it legal for smog inspections that are about to start here in Tulsa county.

I have dummy dual because I belive it performs better than true. (Because of the computer and the sensors.) It is straight-piped and sounds great.

Dummy Dual. It is just one pipe. It branches off with a Y-Piece to come out the back and look like dual.

Sounds like my setup. Being that really stupid cat convertor. I have a y-pipe behind it, and straights out the rear.

My brother has an 89 Extended 4x4 with the cats cut off and dual 12in glass packs. If you want a loud exhaust this is the setup. Very loud, and very awesome. Also at highway cruising not any louder than a regular straight pipe exhaust.

true duals

Hey Ladies and Gents.

First im no mechanic but im learning.
Second this is my first truck ever.
third hellllp....

I have recently purchased a 1993 F150 4x4 with 123,056 miles.
I bought it for 2800.00
5.0l 302
31" tires, diamond toolbox and ect.

I got True duals... i dont if should be happy or not lol.

Problems are:
Im puffin a lil black smoke out my pipes and I know this means im running rich.
So i checked it out...
Upon further inspection i find that i have long pipe headers and no cats. And they are 2 sep lines no y, no x pipe just straight back never meeting.
I have know idea what kind of mufflers i got but they r loud and sound awesome.

It seems a few things have been disconnected to assist the engine and other systems i guess. due to having only one O2 sensor.

One thing i know is the belt system no longer runs the air pump its bypassed or should i say the belt doent run around it.

And some pipe that goes to some vac system, the end of the pipe is clamped shut .

The truck runs really really good like a champ but it idles off and it runs rich.
i know some of the problem is the fact i have only 1 o2 sensor.

Any ideas on a fix for this?

also sorry its a lil here and there but im new
I have purchased a code reader and i hope it will clue me in to the idol problem and the black smoke.

I hope to have some pics to post of it next time to make things easier.

Later All and thanks.
