I have a 1993 F150, SWB, tow package w/only 54,000's on it. I put 500 lbs in the bed the other day and man did the rear end ride low! The truck looked like it was max'ed out on weight it could carry. I looked closely at teh leaf springs and one looked flat compared to the other one. With the weight out of the bed on one side I could put my finger in between the helper spring and the regular spring on the other side theres hardly any gap. The truck doesnt sit lower on one side but it does sit level from front to rear. On most trucks doesnt the rear end sit alittle higher then the front.
HOW DO I TELL IF THE LEAF SPRINGS ARE WEAK OR NO GOOD. How would the truck ride if they are weak?

 

I here you on this one. My 93 has factory overloads, which makes it bog down as much as a 3/4 does, but it rattles like hell. I end up using old motor oil between the leaves to stop the constant rattling. As far as weak leaves, I think the way most people check them is if the truck sways on each end. either right or left.

 

I think your springs are weak. My truck does sit higher in the rear, As does my sisters. She has a 95 f-150. I would take it to a spring shop and have it looked at.

But if new springs are installed it will ride quite a bit rougher for awhile.
