Post A quick question about gas tank capacity...

Hey All -- I have a 96 F150 I6 4.9l and when I bought this truck it didn't come with a manual. What is the exact capacity of the two gas tanks? I think the front is 15.5 gal and the rear is 13.5 gal ?? Can anyone confirm or deny the EXACT number?? Thanks!!!

Wheelbase will probably make a difference.
My '93 long-wide-bed has a 19.2 gal front tank and an 18.7 gal rear tank.

I believe Nomo is right on track, total is around 39 gallons. At any rate, it costs an arm and a leg at the pump!! $50-60 here! Hope this helps!

My dad has a 94 flare side and I think his is about the same as Dewy's tanks if I'm not mistaken.

In 1995, all of the F-150's and F-250's had a rear tank capacity of 18.2 gallons. If they have a front tank, it's 16.5 gallons for the shortbed and 19 gallons for the long bed.

Take care,
