Question Towing Capacity

I would appreciate any help. I have a '90 F250, Reg. Cab, XLT Lariat with 460/7.5l/ 3.55 rear axle ratio/ Auto trans/ 8600#GVWR/

I want to pull a 29' 5th wheel. Dry weight 8600#/GVWR 11,000#/ and 1780# tongue weight.

Can I do it with this truck?
Do I need to beef things up?
Can I?

I'm planning to tow this sucker around the country and I don't want to die in the middle somewhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

No Problem. I would maybe go to a 3.73 gear if your transmission has overdrive, but 3.55 will probably suffice with the 460 engine. Make sure you have a transmission cooler. I tow a 24' with my 86 F250 and it is about 6000lbs. I have a 351W with a 4spd granny transmission and I have no problems whatsoever. The guy I bought the truck from was towing 9000lbs with it, so I don't think you will have any problems.
