Angry Removing the ignition cylinder

My wife has an 1994 Ford F150 Anyways wondering if anybody knew how to change out the ignition cylinder. The thing spins 360 degrees now without the key in it. And when we try to start the truck the key is very hard to put in the hole - Is this job I can do myself??

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up Easier than you think

First disassemble the lower half of the column shroud exposing the column. Then look at where the Ignition cylinder goes into the column and you'll see a pin hole with a push pin in it. Now the cylinder has to be in the run position to push the pin in. Maintenance manuals say to disconnect the Neg cable on the battery. But if you already have the new cylinder on hand then why. So on to the rest. Just turn to RUN push the pin in with an AWL or 1/8 drill bit and it slides on out.....

Yup, BC has it. Run, pin, pull.

Welcome too!
