Question 89' 5L's plug gapping from 88's = BIG DIFF! But why?

For the 302 ci, 88's call a .044 plug gap. 89's call for a .054 gap! That, in itself is no big deal. But Ford component spec's for the Ign. modules, Coils, Plugs & base time setting of 10 BTDC"s are Identical ?!? Anybody know whats up w/ that? (Referenced w/ Motorcraft components)

Where are you getting the plug gap info from? There should be no difference...

In 1989, all truck 5.0's used a .044 gap. Passenger car 5.0's mostly used a .054 gap, but a few used a .050 gap.
