5 beeps

I have a 94 ford XLT 5.8 with auto trans. Truck would not start unless I jumped the solenoid which is mounted on the inside fender wall. So I installed a new motorcraft solenoid. Now it starts but when it doe's a beeper will beep 5 beeps 5 times consecutively. Someone said it was the radio but it is not turned on.Thanks...RICH

more than likely you have a bad connection at the battery, dead battery, bad starter, locked up engine in that order. Due the lights work, try wiggling the battery wires.

just saw your sec post, shut the door

It might take while, but sooner or later, everybody does the "DUHHH!!!!!".That's Entertainment. If it's a $ $ screw up, It it then a "OOOOH S**T!!!", still kinda interesting, but in a "It's better to watch a train wreck than participate" kinda way. You might consider changing your handle to "5 beeps". Easy to remember & it's got a nice ring to it, don't you think? And when people ask you what it means and you rely "It means you ought to shut your da** door!". It'll be like the "DUHHH!!!! that keeps on giving!

You mean it was the door open key in/lights on beeping?

Also keep in mind '94-'96 F-150s/Broncos will make a beeping noise when there is a problem with the airbag system and the dash light for the airbag is burnt out.

5 beeps

Thanks Adrianspeeder, It was the " also keep in mind". The previous owner towed a 5th wheel and disconnected the airbag which I am told a lot of the snowbirds down here in FL do when they tow a 5th wheel. Thanks, RICH
