1991 F150

I recently got rid of my 2005 F150, since I'm a broke college student and wasn't suitable for a much highway driving as I do. I would like to have a truck just for going fishing and hunting.

This is what I've found

1991 F150 Custom
300 I6 Auto 178,000 miles
Air (blows cold)
4x4
Body has a couple minor dents. Hood is chipped from rocks. Bed is scraped, with minor rust spots. Only place it looks like it may have rusted through is a dime sized spot in the lower door jam drivers side.
Overall, it looks like a junker. Interior isn't terrible, but definitely looks 17 years old.
Needs new tires.

The guy is asking $1200. Any thoughts, or suggestions for what I should look out for?

A runnin' POS 4x4 should get about a grand. Prolly lookin at a few hundred in parts on a 17 year old truck to make it a reliable driver.

As long as the I6 is good and the rust isnt all over the place its probably a good buy
