i have a 95 f-150 5.0 with the AODE tranny. the tranny sometimes has problems from shifting 1st to 2nd at W.A.O.. any suggestions to fix this?

Know when the last time the fluid/filter was changed? If not, or it's been more than 30k miles, do that. Drop the pan and swap out the filter, refill with fresh fluid. It's not all the fluid, but it's well over half and is good enough. Made a big difference on my E4OD, smoother shifts and it used to wind way up in 1st before shifting....perfectly normal now.
